Today was the first day of what will be a long recovery ahead of me. I got up for work and went about my day as I normally would. I started my computer, got my Zoom classes ready, and worked on our interactive lessons. Made sure I had my breakfast and coffee ready to go and that I was ready to start the day. I did notice that I was dragging a bit more and just felt a little worn out but chalked it up to the fact that I didn't sleep well for the past two nights.
I did all my daily tasks for work, as we have been working on parent conferences, finishing observations, and getting activity packets ready to go home. My right-hand women and I were on a roll so I couldn't let this feeling get in the way. I made some green tea, pulled out the cough drops, and took some sinus medication. Lunchtime came around and I was exhausted, I had been working from our room and gave Mike my desk. I figured I was going to work 2-3 days a week so it was just easier if we switched. It worked out perfectly for today because my bed was right there. I set my alarm so I wouldn't be late to sign back into work and when it went off I went about my day.
By that afternoon class, I was starting to cough. It was just a tickle that I took care of by drinking some water. However, it kept getting worse. I had Reagan and Kane's parent conference and I couldn't stop coughing the whole time we were on Zoom and I felt so bad for their teacher. I ended my day at my normal time and decided to relax for the rest of the night. I took a hot shower after relaxing in the bath and felt better and didn't think anything of it. All I wanted was for the tickle in the throat and the funny nose to go away.
