Those who know me, know that I have struggled with getting my teaching credential due to the CSETS. I passed 2 of the 3, along with all my TPA's. I was on a provisional and short-term staff permit which allowed me to teach during my last program, I ended up not finishing that program with two classes to go because of the CSETS, which is why I decided to just go to Arizona State and finished a non-credential program.
When covid hit somehow someone opened their eyes and realized yes. California has a severe teacher shortage and extended the ways in which credentials could be obtained. In fact, they mirror Arizona and I believe Nevada now. I decided to sign up for the testing with Arizona but after research and reaching out to the CTC, it wouldn't matter if I passed Arizona tests or not I still need to have a program sponsor which would be a district like (LA County Office of Education) or a degree program with credential embedded, or just a credential program.
California does not require the TPA's for Multiple subjects or RICA as one is for Single Subject and the other is for Special Education. I just applied to a program where I got my BA at. It's 34 units and a 1-year program or if they take all 12 units from Azusa it's 22 units and about half a year. I can start next week if I get everything completed by tomorrow morning if not I wouldn't start till May. I am pushing to start next week.
So ya girl will be back in the classroom soon!!! I really want to go back to 7th grade but would do elementary if I had to. I just don't want to do T/K or Kinder lol. And yes I will work full time and go to school full time I did it in all my programs.
