Another Flood

Due to all the rain, it started seeping into our room under the window. I woke up and notice our bedroom was humid a little bit just thought maybe Mike had recently taken a shower. So I got up to start picking up the room when I walked in front of the window and stepped on the squishy carpet. Of course, I freaked and started walking everywhere but it was just in that area. I called Mike to look at it and so he walked around to see how far it was, again only under the window. I looked to see if I had left the window open, or strangely a crack in the window, but nothing. In a bit of a panic, I guess you could say, we went room from room checking for wet flooring and walls, but thankfully nothing.

Mike put a call into USAA right away and since it was the weekend an adjuster would call us. However, it took a few days. The adjuster told us if the wet carpet is from flooding then it won't be covered as we need flood insurance. For the 1st time ever I wish it be something with the roof or the window not being sealed or something along those lines. I wouldn't even know where to even start for repairs if it's something else. The moral of the story get flood insurance!
