I just finished my 2nd round of plasma. I still hadn't slept much even though it seemed as I slept so much the day before. I was keeping in contact with friends and family as much as I could. It was nice to be able to speak to everyone even though it scared them to hear me and see me.
Sick wise I felt like when you are getting over the flu. Kind of tired just that worn down feeling. My veins don't do so well with IV's and they had already blown veins in my arms from my elbow down to my hand it was a miracle they were able to get a new IV in. At some point, they had to pull the two IV's in my left arm as it was swelling. II was starting to get a red line from the first IV down past the second IV. I tried to lay straight as to bend the catheter but at some point, I must have moved. When they pulled the original IV it just came out with the tape.
Another day went where I really needed to be helped out of bed to clean up or at least once again given everything. The care was starting to go downhill but I kept it to myself for a bit because I just thought it was me. Yes, while the medical aspect was great and I was getting the correct treatment or at least I think it was, I just kept going back to the hygiene portion. I know this is TMI but when you can smell that you have been sweating it's never a good thing. My hair was gummy and my teeth were horrible and I already have a bunch of dental work going on.
I did notice that everything in my chest was starting to break up and thank God for that. I was starting to cough more in the mornings. Another RT actually shut the blinds in the room and the shade to keep the cold air out as he said he didn't want that to hit my lungs.
